Creating a seamless payment experience

Background

For Svea Bank, I collaborated with a cross-functional team to design and enhance a web portal aimed at managing online payments made with their payment solution. Our goal was to create a seamless and intuitive user experience that would simplify the process for users to track, manage, and complete their payments. (2021)

My role: As the UX Designer, I was responsible for leading the user experience design process. This included conducting user research, creating wireframes, and developing interactive prototypes. I worked closely with the product owner and developers to ensure our designs met user needs and business goals.

Challenges

One of the main challenges was integrating various payment management features into a single, cohesive interface, while respecting business requirements.

Research and Insights

We conducted user interviews and usability tests to gather insights into user behaviors and pain points. Key findings indicated that users wanted an easy way to see the number of payments done, and how many remaining, in a payment plan.
They also wanted to easily find, and copy, relevant information from an invoice to be able to pay within their own bank (i.e. amount, bank/plusgiro and due date).

Outcome

Based on our research, we designed a streamlined dashboard that provided users with a comprehensive overview of their payment activities.

The redesigned web portal received positive feedback from users, who appreciated the intuitive layout and ease of navigation. Our efforts resulted in a significant increase in user satisfaction and engagement with the payment management features.

Working on this project with Svea Ekonomi was an enriching experience. It reinforced the importance of user-centered design and cross-functional collaboration. The success of the project was a testament to our team's dedication to understanding and meeting user needs.
